(28) My Half-year summary in blockchain projects(Axie Infinity , BBS , Pixelverse )

        I've been working on a blockchain project for 6 months since entering Axie Infinity in August，2021. During this period of time, I learned a lot of blockchain knowledge and made many new friends. Suffice to say, my life has changed a lot, and I think the change will continue. As a newcomer of blockchain world, there is still a lot to explore and learn, which is challenging and exciting. Today I mainly want to share some of my experiences, thoughts and expectations for Crypto Future. Please correct me if I make any mistakes.

        For most investors, due to our limited information , when we find a new and hot investment project, it is likely to be the end of its bull market（I mean we may come in a bull tail）. This means if we hurriedly invest money to enter the market , we are more likely to be cut like a "leek" , such as players who enter Axie Infinity in July and August 2021（I am one of them）. 

        Li Xiaolai's investment booklet "Self-Cultivation of Chives" says that the trading market has cycles. Bull markets and bear markets come alternately. The timing of newcomers' entry is often wrong. Therefore, entering the market at the right time and being able to cross the bulls and bears is the key to making money! Unfortunately, most of us can't handle it.

        Besides the wrong entry timing, I also made a fatal mistake of believing a scammer on the Axie Infinity Discord, providing my Secret Recovery Phrase on a fake link, which resulted in my Axie and AXS being transferred to the scammer's account, I got heavy loss, article link: （1）Decentralization risks and safety suggestions of NFT games. 

        Therefore, the decentralized blockchain project is not perfect, and its operation method is very different from the centralized blockchain project, which also provides great convenience to the scammers!!! I have also used Binance to trade. As a centralized crypto trading platform, it requires mobile phone verification code, email verification code and dynamic password when trading. Therefore, based on my experience, I currently think that CEXs are more secure than DEXs, and are more suitable for wide application in the field of crypto currency trading.

        I have suggested developing smart contracts, encrypting the secondary password of personal transactions on the chain, and adding a secondary password reminder; and limiting the transaction time after Axie is transferred as a gift, but these suggestions have not been adopted yet. 

        It can be said that Axie Infinity's Ronin wallet Secret Recovery Phrase is still at risk of being deceived by scammers. If the game becomes popular again in 2022, when new players enter Discord for help, they may still be deceived. Therefore, Sky Mavis still needs to consider adding channel moderators not only speak English on Discord as soon as possible, so as to reduce the risk of novice players being cheated when they first enter the game.

        I am looking forward to the arrival of various mini-games and land gameplay of Axie Infinity. This is what players and investors have been waiting for a long time, but to be honest, I don’t agree with some of the team’s practices in 2021. The effect of production reduction is not good. 

        After SLP reduction, the Ban Wave on November 19 last year actually it showed actions and characteristics of centralized games, and did not well demonstrate the advantages of decentralized games. The problem of abusing energy system  has existed for a long time, but it was not corrected until the end of last year. People can even say that this is the result of the intentional relaxation of the team. Many new blockchain projects in 2021 have already limited 24 no profit when they are launched. They do this even before Axie Infinity fixed.

        When Sky Mavis banned the players' pet for abusing of the energy system, when the player group complained about the pet price reduction, the team thought it was the players' fault!!! Obviously this is one-sided, after all, this is actually because the team doesn't provide new game playmodes ,SLP burn mechanism and made land playmode delay , all players are hoping to have new game content. When the interests of the player group as investors are reduced and looking forward to a solution, the team didn't provide new content, this is no doubt.  

         I know that the main reason for delay is that the game engine is changed from 2D to 3D, but delaying is a behavior makes negative effects. The problem of this behavior is on the Axie team, this is not controversial. In fact, this also reminded us that the blockchain game project may have insufficient technical preparations, and it is likely to be delayed frequently, which really requires sufficient patience and funding. Due to the ban incident, I think that the current Axie card game content is mainly centralized. At the same time, this may also have some negative effects on the promotion of the Ronin chain.

        The Ronin chain is an Ethereum side chain that can also execute smart contracts on the EVM. In the recent Axie Dev Chat, Jiho and Aleksander spent 20 minutes introducing the purpose and content of this chain. 

        According to the introduction document of the Ronin chain (known as Ronin Litepaper), there are currently 10 verification nodes (Validators). For other project parties who want to issue chain games, 50,000 RON is the basic condition for becoming a verification node. If other project parties want to join the Ronin chain in the future, it must pass the strict review of Sky Mavis. Its operation is bound to Sky Mavis at the same time, sharing weal and woe.

        For the early players of Axie Infinity, they will firmly support the Axie project side, I think this must move the team members, but for the players who invested a lot of money in the later stage, I see a lot of people complaining about the game's operations are not decentralized, and players never vote on any content. 

        Therefore, since the SLP production cut and subsequent declines, the divergence has continued to widen. I oppose the abuse of complaining, which is meaningless, but I support positive suggestions. There are many times when positive suggestions are not adopted. This is What Sky Mavis needs to be strengthened. If the development and release of game content is always decided in a centralized way, then I think it is difficult to decentralize other content on the Ronin chain. If the players who invested in the second half of 2021 continue losing, while the team still thinks it is very OK. It is difficult to say that in the future, there will not be many other project parties as expected  will put their good projects on the Ronin chain .

    In addition to Twitter, I also shared and promoted a lot of Axie articles on WeChat public account, Zhihu, Blogger, and BBS, mainly personal summaries and analysis. According to the current results, in BBS there are more people interested in Axie Infinity. After all, BBS is also a Web 3.0 project. Many people in BBS know and participate in the Crypto project, they are not like newcomers in Crypto. The second is the WeChat public account, but the number on the WeChat public account is relatively small as Crypto is not developing fast in my country.

        Someone in Zhihu asked how much impact a blockchain game like Axie Infinity has on Tencent. I think the impact is small in the short term and limited in  long term. At present, Axie Infinity only launched the card game, the audience is small, and many players play for earning money, while Tencent has established a rich game group and acquired a large number of users.

    As Tencent is a big Chinese company, its game servers are all located in China, the audience is mainly in China, and it can get a lot of support in China. While Sky Mavis, as a foreign company, its server is located abroad, which is very inconvenient for Chinese players, and it cannot provide tax revenue to China. It won't get a lot of support. 

        I think Origin, which will come  at the end of March, is a great step. It has the opportunity to convert free players into paying players. However, it is still inconvenient for many players in some countries.When Axie Origin launches, I will write my experience in it, I am sure it will be fun and great differences!

        In addition to Axie Infinity and BBS, I also see another project that is expected to explode in 2022, it is Pixlverse. As a sub-project of the Sappy Seals NFT project, I see a lot of content in this pixel world which is similar to the classic sandbox game Terraria, and it has found a lot of partners who have the opportunity develop the world of Pixlverse with the project team.This is an important way for NFT-based projects to connect with each other to join a Meta Universe. In 2021, I see that many cross-chain projects encounter problems, especially hacker attacks.

         Personally ,my speculation is that if cross-chain projects cannot achieve big breakthroughs, then small NFTs based on certain public chains and certain project platforms will be interconnected in metaverse first. Both Axie Infinity and Pixlverse have the opportunity to become part of this metaverse. At present, the progress of Axie Infinity is faster, while as Pixlverse is a pixel game, its development speed can be faster than Axie in the future, and it may be able to go faster than Axie in the future! I hope that in 2022, I can see the real metaverse world of these two blockchain games!

        Finally, let's talk about other risks: in addition to those scammers that active on Discord, some smart contracts also have risks, after all, code is not perfect. In 2021, there have been many hackers using smart contract vulnerabilities and false authorizations to defraud many players' crypto currency, and many projects (including Axie Infinity) have been plagued by bots. These issues continue to threaten the interests of project participants in 2022, and solutions will need to be further strengthened. In addition, the suppression attitude of some countries to crypt market and blockchain projects may also cause the overall decline of crypto currency, and participants have to be very, very cautious .

        If we want to benefit from this revolution, each of us still needs to learn a lot.
